If you are planning a trip between Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt, know that your luggage deserves a VIP experience too.
We have thought of everything: you enjoy the journey, we take care of the rest.

🎫 How it works

When you purchase your Matterhorn Alpine Crossing ticket, from 1st November 2025 (excluding the period from 7th January to 27th February 2026 inclusive), you can add the luggage transport service to travel light.

  • Each traveller can entrust us with up to 2 pieces of luggage (suitcase, rucksack or trolley bag weighing up to 23 kg).
  • You can also bring one piece of hand luggage for essential items that you need to keep with you at all times.
  • The service is only valid if you have a valid passenger ticket for the international route.

💼 Prices

Standard luggage (up to 23 kg): € 20.00

Heavy luggage (23.1–32 kg): € 40.00

Extra weight over 32 kg: € 20.00

Dismantled bicycles or e-bikes: € 20.00

Payments are made in euros if you are departing from Breuil-Cervinia, or in Swiss francs if you are departing from Zermatt.
All inclusive, VAT included. 🚠

⏰ Timetable

The luggage service runs twice a day from both sides of the border:

Morning: departure at 10:00

Afternoon: departure at 14:00

Please ensure you drop off your luggage on time; collections are made by 4:45 on the same day — no overnight storage. 😴

⚠️ In case of problems

If your luggage arrives late or is damaged, please notify the Cervinia baggage desk immediately or write to bagagli@cervinospa.com.
We will do our best to resolve the situation quickly.

🎿 FAQ  Luggage Transport Service

1️⃣ How does the luggage transport service work between Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt?
The service allows passengers to send their luggage from Breuil-Cervinia to Zermatt (and vice versa) via the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing connection.
Luggage must be checked in at the Breuil-Cervinia baggage desk, where it is transported twice daily – once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Cervino S.p.A. manages the route up to Plateau Rosà (Testa Grigia), where the luggage is handed over to Zermatt Bergbahnen AG, responsible for the Swiss section.




2️⃣How much does the luggage transport service cost?
Rates apply only with a valid Cervinia–Zermatt ticket (one-way or return).




  • Standard luggage (up to 23 kg): € 20.00




  • Heavy luggage (23.1–32 kg): € 40.00




  • Additional fee for luggage over 32 kg: € 20.00




  • Bicycles (MTB or e-bikes) disassembled in a transport bag: € 20.00
    Prices include VAT and may vary depending on the CHF–EUR exchange rate.






3️⃣ Quando e dove devo consegnare e ritirare il mio bagaglio?




  • Consegna: allo sportello bagagli di Breuil-Cervinia, entro le ore 10:00 o 14:00 in base all’orario del trasporto.




  • Ritiro: presso la stazione di arrivo, entro le ore 17:00 dello stesso giorno.
    Non è possibile consegnare i bagagli in anticipo né lasciarli in deposito notturno.
    Il ritiro è consentito solo al titolare della ricevuta o a chi esibisce un documento d’identità valido

When and where should I drop off and collect my luggage?




  • Drop-off: at the Breuil-Cervinia baggage desk, by 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m., depending on the transport schedule.




  • Pick-up: at the arrival station, by 5:00 p.m. on the same day.
    Advance delivery and overnight storage are not allowed.
    Luggage can only be collected by the receipt holder or someone with valid ID.






4️⃣.What happens in case of delay, loss, or damage to luggage?
Any issues must be reported immediately at the Breuil-Cervinia baggage desk by filling in a claim form.




  • In case of delay, Cervino S.p.A. may reimburse documented urgent purchases up to € 200 per day (maximum € 1,300).




  • In case of damage or loss, the maximum compensation is € 1,300 per item.
    Claims must be submitted within 7 days of the incident, also by e-mail to bagagli@cervinospa.com.
