An Easter with winter conditions, and on April 25 Cervino Springtime returns — the costumed ski day
It still feels like full winter on the slopes of the Cervino Ski Paradise: temperatures remain well below zero overnight, and heavy snowfall has continued over the past weeks. A spectacular Easter is expected on the slopes of Valtournenche and Breuil-Cervinia, fully connected on skis with Zermatt in Switzerland.
Skiing, snowboarding, and fun for everyone across the 350 kilometres of the international ski area, which again this year will remain open until September. The lifts in Valtournenche will close on 26 April, but skiing will continue without interruption on the higher slopes of Breuil-Cervinia. You can ski on the Italian side for as long as snow conditions allow, after which the season will carry on on the Plateau Rosa glacier.
On 25 April, Cervino Springtime will return: the costumed ski day between Plan Maison and Campetto Cretaz, ending with a DJ set. A festive way to welcome spring but, above all, to celebrate yet another snow season that never seems to end at the foot of the Gran Becca.
Once again, a special formula will be offered to ski at advantageous prices. A 30% discount on ski passes is planned for those who stay at least four nights in one of the participating accommodation facilities. Offers will be available from 7 April.
Meanwhile, the resort is looking ahead to the summer season, once again filled with events and activities immersed in nature. From 13 to 19 July, Cervino Week will return to celebrate the iconic mountain. A programme of talks, concerts, free cultural events, and sports activities at promotional rates, curated by the Municipality of Valtournenche and renowned alpinist Hervé Barmasse.
On 28 June, the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing — connecting Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt — will celebrate its third anniversary, while on 2 August Cervino Spa will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a special day. A journey through past, present, and future. The same day will also feature the 50th edition of the Rencontre Valdôtaine, between Valtournenche, Maën, and Breuil-Cervinia.
From 25 July to 1 August, the Cervino Cinemountain Film Festival will return, dedicated to great mountain cinema; on 14 and 15 August, the traditional “veillà” and the celebration of mountain guides and ski instructors will take place between Valtournenche and Breuil-Cervinia. And on 26 September, the historic Dezarpa of Valtournenche will once again take place.
Several sporting events are also on the calendar. From 26 to 28 June, the Cervino Matterhorn Ultra Race — a trail running event bringing over 1,000 participants to Breuil-Cervinia — will be held. On 17 and 18 July, the Monterosa Walserwaeg by UTMB will pass through the valley, after debuting last year in Valtournenche. Then, in September, the TorX races will pass through, and on the evening of 16 September the Tor100 Cervino–Monte Bianco will start.
Cycling will also take centre stage: from 10 to 12 July, the Italian stage of the E-bike Enduro and the FMI World Cup; on 25 and 26 July, the interregional round of the downhill gravity circuit; and on 1 and 2 August, the Ion Cup.
